8BitDo's Ultimate 3E Controller: A Premium Option for Gamers

It's a crowded market out there for game controllers, especially when you're looking for something a bit more premium. Microsoft's Xbox Elite Series 2 has long been the go-to for serious gamers wanting extra features and customization. However, 8BitDo is stepping into the ring with its new $150 Ultimate 3E controller, aiming to offer a compelling alternative that might just win you over.

This new controller is specifically designed for Xbox and PC players who crave a deeper level of customization and a more refined aesthetic than what's currently available. 8BitDo is touting features that aim to rival, and perhaps even surpass, Microsoft's offering, all while coming in at a slightly different price point than its own previous model, the $60 Ultimate 2.

What's packed into this new device? Well, it seems like 8BitDo has listened to what gamers want. The Ultimate 3E reportedly includes drift-proof TMR joysticks, which is a huge plus for longevity and consistent gameplay. On top of that, you're looking at extra shoulder buttons, rear paddles for enhanced control, motion control support, and modular buttons and joysticks that allow for a truly personalized feel. It also features a 3.5mm audio jack, a staple for many gamers who prefer wired headsets.

While the refined design is certainly a draw, early impressions suggest that the matte finish might be prone to showing wear and tear relatively quickly. Still, for those prioritizing functionality and a high degree of customization, the 8BitDo Ultimate 3E appears to be a serious contender in the premium controller space. It's exciting to see more options emerging that cater to players who want to fine-tune their gaming experience.
