AMD is rolling out its FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 4.1 technology to a wider range of devices, including Xbox Series S/X consoles, laptops, and handheld gaming PCs. This move aims to boost gaming performance across various platforms.
Great news for gamers across different platforms! AMD has announced that its latest upscaling technology, FSR 4.1, is making its way to the Xbox Series S and X consoles. This means players on Microsoft's current-gen consoles could soon experience smoother gameplay and improved visual fidelity in supported titles.
But the reach of FSR 4.1 doesn't stop at consoles. AMD is also bringing this performance-boosting tech to laptops equipped with 6000-series GPUs, as well as popular handheld gaming devices like the Xbox Ally X. This expansion is set to start today, with Radeon RX 6000-series GPUs being among the first to receive the update. Additionally, devices featuring Ryzen AI Max 300 and 400 series, and Ryzen AI 9 300 and 400 series processors will also benefit.
AMD initially launched FSR 4.1 for its newer Radeon RX 9000-series graphics cards back in March. The company had previously committed to bringing the technology to older GPUs and handhelds by the end of this year. With this latest announcement, it seems AMD is well on track to deliver on that promise.
FSR 4.1 is designed to significantly enhance gaming performance in a wide array of titles. Currently, it supports over 300 games, with popular titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 6, and Assassin's Creed expected to see performance improvements. For us gamers, this means potentially higher frame rates and the ability to push graphical settings further, even on less powerful hardware. It's always exciting to see technologies like FSR 4.1 democratize high-fidelity gaming, making it more accessible across a broader spectrum of devices. Keep an eye out for these updates hitting your favorite platforms!
