Warhammer fans, it is time to dust off your digital bolters and spellbooks. Games Workshop has officially brought a collection of classic Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 titles to Steam for the very first time. While some of these games have lived on other digital storefronts like GOG for a while, their arrival on Valve’s platform makes them more accessible than ever to the modern PC gaming crowd.

The lineup includes three legendary titles from the Warhammer Fantasy range: Shadow of the Horned Rat, Mark of Chaos – Gold Edition, and Dark Omen. For those who prefer the grimdark future of the 41st millennium, the 40K universe is represented by four heavy hitters: Chaos Gate, Fire Warrior, Final Liberation, and Rites of War. If you grew up in the late 90s or early 2000s, these names likely spark a massive wave of nostalgia.

For many of us, games like Chaos Gate were our first introduction to tactical turn-based combat long before the modern XCOM era. It might have been a bit clunky by today's standards, but leading a squad of Ultramarines against the forces of Chaos felt incredibly epic. Then there is Fire Warrior, which offered a rare perspective by letting players step into the boots of a Tau warrior in a first-person shooter format. It wasn't the deepest FPS out there, but its unique atmosphere still holds a special place in the hearts of many hobbyists.

To celebrate this launch, Games Workshop is hosting a 'Classics Sale' on Steam. Not only are these seven newcomers discounted, but a total of 19 re-released titles are part of the promotion. Even if you aren't into the 'retro' aesthetic, modern masterpieces like Space Marine 2 and the anniversary editions of Dawn of War are also seeing some love. It seems like a perfect time to expand your digital pile of shame without the guilt of unpainted plastic miniatures staring at you from across the room.
