Claude Can Now Generate Charts and Interactive Diagrams

Anthropic is rolling out a new capability for Claude that brings charts, diagrams and other visualizations directly into the chat. Rather than hiding graphics in a side panel, Claude can now insert images inline when it judges a visual would help explain a topic — for example, rendering an interactive periodic table or a diagram showing how weight travels through a building.

The company says visuals are generated based on the flow of the conversation, so if you’re discussing chemistry tables, construction loads or other structured information, Claude may propose a tailored graphic. Some examples shared by Anthropic show clickable elements inside generated visuals that reveal extra detail when you interact with them.

According to Anthropic, the aim is to reduce friction when users ask for visual explanations. Instead of asking separately for a chart or exporting data to another tool, you can keep the exchange within the chat and get a contextual image that supports the answer. The visuals are presented inline so they feel like part of the conversation rather than an appended resource.
