For those who've dreamt of creating their own stickers for Etsy or just for personal enjoyment but felt intimidated by the starting process, the Cricut Joy 2 might just be your perfect entry point. I've been spending a couple of weeks with this machine, and coming into the Cricut world as a complete novice, I've found it surprisingly accessible. It's also more budget-friendly than many other Cricut models, and it's currently part of a compelling sale. The machine itself is priced at $99, but the real value lies in the bundles. The Essentials Bundle is now $119 (a $20 saving) and includes materials for 35 projects, while the Ultimate Bundle, at $169 (a $50 discount), adds extra tools, including an iron press, and enough supplies for over 75 projects.

The Cricut Joy 2 is designed with smaller, everyday crafting projects in mind. A standout feature is its 'Print Then Cut' capability, now available in the entry-level lineup. This means you can print your own full-color designs using a standard home printer and then have the Joy 2 precisely cut them out, making sticker sheet creation a breeze. Honestly, this has been one of the most satisfying aspects of my testing. Once you get the hang of it, the process is quite quick and straightforward. Just a heads-up: while you can use a laser printer, you'll need to provide your own compatible sticker paper, as Cricut's own offerings are geared towards inkjet printers. Beyond stickers, the Joy 2 is capable of producing custom cards, simple vinyl decals, labels, bookmarks, and iron-ons. I've found it incredibly useful for both creative endeavors and practical applications like custom planner templates and drawer labels.

Getting started is generally simple, although Cricut's design software, 'Design Space,' does have a learning curve. I personally found it a bit challenging initially, but after dedicating a few days to tutorials and experimenting with pre-made templates, things started to click. Projects began coming together much faster. A significant boost came from the free 30-day trial of the Cricut Access subscription, which unlocked a much wider array of templates, images, and fonts than the free tier offers. Just remember that this subscription auto-renews at $9.99 per month after the trial period, so be sure to cancel if you don't wish to continue.
