A spinoff from Verge Motorcycles, Donut Lab isn't just talking about lab results; they are aiming for mass production as early as this year.

Solid-state batteries are often called the 'Holy Grail' of the electric vehicle industry for good reason. Unlike the lithium-ion batteries in your current phone or car, which use a liquid electrolyte, solid-state versions use solid materials. This change promises significantly higher energy density, much faster charging times, and a higher level of safety because they aren't prone to catching fire. If Donut Lab is right, we could be looking at EVs that charge in minutes and travel twice as far on a single charge.
