I tested the Scapade AirPack, a Find My‑enabled backpack, across seven countries to see how it performs for travelers. Here’s a practical look at tracking reliability, battery life, comfort and real‑world use.

Gadgets for travel often promise peace of mind, but they don't always deliver once you hit a busy airport or a crowded market. I put the Scapade AirPack — a backpack that integrates Apple’s Find My network — through a real travel marathon across seven countries to see whether the feature holds up outside showroom demos.

First impression: the bag looks like a standard travel backpack, with clean lines and pockets where you'd expect them. Under the fabric is a small tracking module that works with Apple’s Find My system. Setup was straightforward for any iPhone user: pop in the module, pair it, and it appears in Find My like any other item. No special app wrestling required.

In airports and train stations the AirPack showed its strengths. When checked luggage went missing or a gate change forced me to stash the bag in crowded holding areas, the Find My updates gave a solid sense of location. Accuracy varied — closer when the bag was near an iPhone or Apple device, fuzzier in remote spots — but it was fast enough to direct me to the right terminal or neighborhood.

Battery life is the pragmatic bit travellers care about. The module lasted several days on moderate use and low-power mode extended that further. You’ll still want to charge between long trips, and there’s a physical on/off to avoid draining during storage.

Comfort and functionality are equally important. The backpack held up as a daily carry: padded laptop compartment, organized pockets and decent straps. It’s not ultralight, but it balances utility with the tracking feature without being clunky.

All told, the Scapade AirPack doesn't feel like a gimmick. For people who travel with valuable kit and occasionally worry about lost bags, the convenience of passive Find My tracking feels genuinely useful. It won’t replace careful packing or insurance, but it adds a modern safety net that’s easy to use.
