Govee has launched a more budget-friendly alternative to the Philips Hue Go portable smart lamp, and it's already seeing its first major discount. The Govee Table Lamp Classic is now available on Amazon for a significantly reduced price.
For those who've admired the portability of the Philips Hue Go smart lamp but balked at the $100+ price tag, Govee might have just the solution. The company recently introduced the Govee Table Lamp Classic, a considerably more affordable smart lamp that's now available with its inaugural discount on Amazon. You can snag this rechargeable smart lamp for $63.99, a saving of $16, making it less than half the cost of its Philips counterpart.
This cordless lamp boasts a built-in 4,800mAh battery, offering up to 30 hours of illumination with colored lighting. When opting for brighter white light, the battery life shortens to approximately five hours. While this isn't quite as long as the Philips Hue Go's claimed 48 hours, the Govee lamp compensates with a brighter output, reaching up to 500 lumens. It's also designed for easy transport, making it suitable for moving between rooms or taking outdoors. However, outdoor use requires caution as it lacks the Philips Hue Go's IP54 weather resistance rating.
The Govee Table Lamp Classic supports adjustable color temperatures, ranging from a warm 2700K to a cooler 6500K. Mirroring Govee's other smart lighting products, it comes equipped with a variety of dynamic lighting effects. Users can sync the lamp to music for gatherings or select from preset scenes designed to evoke specific moods and themes like romance or holidays. A particularly neat feature is Govee's app integration, which allows users to describe a desired ambiance, and the lamp will generate matching lighting effects. Furthermore, the lamp supports Matter, ensuring seamless integration with major smart home platforms.
