Amazon is rolling out a system-wide dark mode for its Kindle Colorsoft and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft devices. This update will bring the popular feature, previously limited to page inversion, to the entire user interface.
For those of us who love our e-readers, Amazon has some good news. Many of the current Kindle devices, especially those with black and white E Ink screens, already offer a handy dark mode. This feature presents white text on a black background, covering the entire user interface. Now, Amazon has announced that this beloved feature is making its way to the Kindle Colorsoft and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft models, which sport color E Ink screens. Previously, this inversion capability was limited to just the ebook pages themselves.
The upcoming software update is set to bring this system-wide dark mode to all sections of the Colorsoft devices. Amazon states that the update will begin rolling out to readers across the globe in the coming weeks. For those eager to get their hands on it sooner, it will also be available for download directly from Amazon's website.
This move is a welcome one for many users who find dark mode easier on the eyes, especially during late-night reading sessions. The ability to have the entire interface, from menus to settings, displayed in a dark theme should significantly enhance the reading experience for Colorsoft owners. It's great to see Amazon continuing to refine the user experience on its devices, bringing popular features to a wider range of its e-reader lineup.
