Fans waiting to swing through Gotham in Lego bricks got a small but welcome surprise: Warner Bros. Games has moved the release of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight up by a week. The game will now arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam and the Epic Games Store on May 22 instead of the previously announced May 29.

TT Games leads development on the title, and the studio’s pedigree with Lego adaptations — notably Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga — gives players reason to be hopeful. That earlier review of TT Games’ ability to weave together decades of franchise material suggests the team is well placed to pull together nearly 90 years of Batman lore into a cohesive, playful package.

Buyers of the deluxe edition can jump in three days before the new launch date, and everyone who pre-orders will receive The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit at launch. Those extras are fairly standard for modern releases, but they do help early adopters feel rewarded for committing ahead of time.

PC players have options via both Steam and the Epic Games Store, and console owners on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S get day‑one parity. Nintendo Switch 2 owners will have to wait a little longer; Warner Bros. says a Switch 2 version will come later in the year. No specific window beyond 2026 has been provided yet.

For readers who’ve been tracking this one, the shift is minor but positive: a slightly shorter wait and the usual pre-order incentives. Given TT Games’ track record, there’s cautious optimism that Legacy of the Dark Knight will balance fan‑service, humor and accessible gameplay — the mix Lego titles have become known for.
