Imagine walking into your digital workspace and having a quick chat with the CEO of your multi-billion dollar company. While that sounds like a dream (or perhaps a nightmare for some), Meta is reportedly working on making this a reality—at least in AI form. According to a recent report from the Financial Times, Mark Zuckerberg might soon have his own AI clone designed specifically to interact with Meta employees.

The project involves training a sophisticated AI avatar on Zuckerberg’s unique image, voice, and mannerisms. It’s not just about looks, though. The AI is being fed his public statements and specific tone of voice to ensure it sounds like the man himself. The goal, according to sources familiar with the matter, is to help employees feel more connected to the founder, especially in an era where remote work and massive corporate structures can make top leadership feel a bit distant.

But this isn't just an internal experiment for the sake of corporate culture. This move appears to be a pilot program for something much larger. If the Zuckerberg AI clone proves successful, Meta plans to roll out this technology to creators across its platforms. This would allow influencers and public figures to create their own AI personas that can interact with fans 24/7, answering questions and engaging with audiences even when the actual person is asleep or busy.

We’ve seen glimpses of this before during Meta Connect 2024, where the company showcased live demos of creator AI personas. However, using the CEO as the primary test subject shows how serious Meta is about the "digital twin" concept. While it might feel a bit like a sci-fi movie plot, it seems like we are heading toward a future where our digital identities are just as active as our physical ones. It will be interesting to see how Meta employees react to getting feedback from a virtual Zuck.
