Meta Launches Forum App with AI for Facebook Groups

Meta is making another attempt to bring Facebook Groups into a dedicated app experience with its new iOS offering, Forum. This new app aims to provide a streamlined way for users to access and engage with their Facebook Groups, and it's even packing some AI assistance to boot.

Think of Forum as a modern take on Facebook's previous, and ultimately short-lived, Groups app from 2017. Instead of navigating through the main Facebook app or relying on external AI tools like ChatGPT for group-related queries, Forum users can directly view, search, and post within their existing Facebook communities. Upon logging into Forum with a Facebook account, the app automatically populates with the groups a user is already a part of.
