A permanent Minecraft-themed area will open at Chessington World of Adventures in Greater London in 2027, featuring a coaster, interactive adventures and block-built playscapes. Mojang Studios and Merlin Entertainments are collaborating on the project, while new in-game updates and events were also revealed at Minecraft Live 2026.
Minecraft is expanding beyond screens with a permanent theme-park area planned for Greater London in 2027. Announced during Minecraft Live 2026, Minecraft World will become a new section of Chessington World of Adventures, the zoo-backed resort roughly 35 minutes by train from London Waterloo.
Details are still light, but organizers say the attraction will include a roller coaster, “interactive adventures” and expansive block-built playscapes. Torfi Frans Ólafsson, Minecraft’s creative director, described the goal as creating “an experience that feels immersive, authentic and welcoming,” and the plans will also include Minecraft-branded retail and dining options.
The project is a collaboration between Mojang Studios and Merlin Entertainments, the global operator behind numerous theme parks. The partnership aims to translate Minecraft’s sandbox creativity into physical spaces visitors can explore, build in and play through—bringing the game’s signature blocky aesthetic to rides and family attractions.
For fans who aren’t planning a UK trip, Mojang also announced a new real-world pop-up event. Minecraft Experience: Moonlight Trail opens in May in Buenos Aires, Argentina. That outdoor nighttime attraction will send visitors on an hour-long walk through stylized biomes where they’ll craft gear, mine “diamonds,” battle mobs and work to restore an ancient beacon.
On the software side, Minecraft’s next update, Tiny Takeover, lands March 24 with a redesigned, cuter look for baby mobs and a golden dandelion item that keeps a baby mob permanently young until fed again. Later this year, Chaos Cubed will introduce a sulfur cube whose properties shift depending on absorbed materials, promising varied physics behaviors.
Finally, Mojang confirmed Minecraft Dungeons II is in the works and available to wishlist starting March 21. Between in-game updates and a real-world theme park, Minecraft is widening how players experience its universe—both on-screen and off.
