Nvidia DLSS 5 Coming to Older RTX 40 Series GPUs

A spokesperson for Nvidia, Rajal Maharaj, confirmed to The Verge that while the current primary focus is on optimizing performance for the GeForce RTX 50 Series, the decision has been made to bring DLSS 5 to the RTX 40-series as well. This move is likely to be welcomed by gamers who own compatible RTX 40-series hardware and were anticipating access to Nvidia's latest AI rendering advancements.

The initial launch plan for DLSS 5 was quite restrictive, with only one game slated for support and a strong emphasis on developer control over artistic vision. The unofficial community's ability to port the technology to more hardware has clearly influenced Nvidia's decision to broaden its official support.
