Palworld Spinoff: A Horror Dating Sim is Coming

Just when you thought Palworld couldn't get any weirder, developer Pocketpair has decided to take things to a whole new level of "bizarre." The studio has officially announced a spinoff titled Palworld: More Than Just Pals, and it is exactly what it sounds like—a dating simulator. But, in true Palworld fashion, there is a dark, horror-themed twist waiting for players.

Set in a mysterious school environment, the game allows players to build romantic relationships with the gun-toting creatures we’ve all come to know. However, the romance isn’t the only thing on the menu. According to the official description, players will also have the option to "dismantle and eat" their dates. It seems the line between love and lunch is incredibly thin in this upcoming title, blending school-life charm with disturbing survival elements.

Now, we know what you’re thinking: "Is this an April Fool’s joke?" Given the timing of the announcement, it’s a fair question. However, Pocketpair has been very vocal on social media, insisting that this is a real project. There is even a live Steam page with system requirements to back up their claim. While the original game was often described as "Pokémon with guns," this spinoff is leaning heavily into the "weird and violent" niche that made the brand a viral sensation in the first place.

This isn't the only spinoff in the works, either. Recently, the team teased Palworld: Palfarm, a farming sim with its own creepy undertones involving the punishment of lazy Pals. It seems Pocketpair is intent on building a "Pal-verse" that explores every genre imaginable, provided there's a hint of dark humor involved. While we don't have a release date or a price tag yet, one thing is certain: the world of Palworld is about to get a lot more intimate—and a lot more terrifying.
