Roblox has seen a decrease in its daily active users, now standing at 132 million globally, down from 144 million at the end of last year. This decline is partly attributed to the platform's recent implementation of age verification features.

Roblox's daily active users have experienced a dip in the last quarter, a trend that seems to be influenced by the platform's ongoing rollout of age verification measures. According to the company's most recent earnings report, Roblox is now reporting 132 million daily active users worldwide. This figure represents a decrease from the 144 million users recorded at the close of the previous year, and a further drop from the 152 million active users seen in Q3 2025.

The impact of these new features is particularly noticeable in the US and Canada, where the number of active users declined by one million compared to the prior quarter. Despite this user contraction, Roblox managed to see its revenue grow, reaching $1.4 billion.

Roblox has acknowledged that its Q1 growth was "tempered by greater-than-expected headwinds." The company specifically pointed to the implementation of its age-check features as a factor that "slowed new user acquisition." These new protocols, designed to enhance safety and compliance, appear to be creating a temporary bottleneck for new users joining the platform.

While the user numbers are down, it's worth noting that the platform continues to expand its revenue streams. The introduction of these safety features, though impacting user numbers in the short term, may be a strategic move to ensure long-term platform health and appeal to a broader, more regulated audience in the future. It will be interesting to see how Roblox navigates this balance between user growth and enhanced safety measures in the coming quarters.
