Hold onto your hats, tech enthusiasts! It looks like we're getting an early peek at what Samsung has been cooking up in the world of smart eyewear. Recent leaks, as reported by Android Headlines, have given us a glimpse of Samsung's rumored smart glasses, codenamed 'Jinju.' These aren't just whispers anymore; we might be looking at actual photos of devices that could be priced anywhere from $380 to $500.

This would mark Samsung's entry into the smart glasses arena, aiming to compete with established players like Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses and the anticipated Google Gemini glasses. Word on the street is that these Samsung specs will be powered by the Android XR wearables platform, hinting at a deep integration with Google's Gemini chatbot. It sounds like Samsung is aiming for a connected and intelligent experience right out of the box.

Interestingly, the first iteration, codenamed 'Jinju,' might not feature a display. However, Samsung appears to have a more ambitious plan for a second release, codenamed 'Haean,' slated for 2027. This future model is expected to sport a micro-LED display, bringing it closer to the functionality we've seen from devices like the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses. These advanced glasses are projected to be in the $600 to $900 price range.

While an exact launch date for the 'Jinju' glasses remains under wraps, a later this year release seems probable. Samsung's major Unpacked event in July could offer some official teasers, though a full launch alongside flagships like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Watch 9 seems unlikely. It's more probable that we'll get a sneak peek, with the actual market debut happening sometime after. This strategy mirrors Samsung's approach with its Galaxy XR virtual reality headset last year.

Digging a bit deeper into the rumored specs for the 'Jinju' glasses, we're hearing about a 12MP camera, a Snapdragon AR1 chip, and directional speakers utilizing bone-conduction technology. Of course, these specifications are subject to change before launch. Plus, with global economic uncertainties and rising costs for components like RAM and storage, the final price might even edge higher than initially estimated. It's an exciting time for wearables, and Samsung's potential entry could shake things up!
