Sonos has launched its new Beam Ultra soundbar, aiming to deliver a premium audio experience for home entertainment. Early impressions from a private demo suggest impressive Dolby Atmos capabilities.
Sonos has been busy, unveiling a host of new products and updates. Among the latest additions is the Beam Ultra soundbar, priced at $699, and the Ace Ultra headphones for $449. While the general event space wasn't the ideal setting to truly gauge audio fidelity, a more controlled, private demonstration offered a promising glimpse into what the Beam Ultra soundbar can deliver.
Positioned about six feet away from the press, the 7.1.2 channel soundbar was put through its paces with a couple of demonstrations designed to showcase its dynamic range, especially when handling Dolby Atmos content. The opening moments of 'Widow's Bay' were used to subtly highlight the Beam Ultra's capabilities, hinting at a more immersive audio experience for viewers.
The Beam Ultra is designed to complement TVs up to 65 inches and will also be available in a black finish. While a full review will require more extensive testing, this initial listen suggests Sonos is continuing its trend of delivering high-quality audio solutions for the modern home. For those looking to elevate their home theater sound, the Beam Ultra appears to be a compelling option that warrants further investigation.
