Tuesday Labs Opens Reservations for Voxel, a Home Robot Butler

For those dreaming of a personal robot assistant to handle everyday chores, Tuesday Labs might have just the thing. This New York City-based robotics lab and design studio has officially opened reservations for its new bi-pedal robot, named Voxel. The Voxel is designed with the ambitious goal of learning and taking over a variety of routine tasks within your home, moving beyond the capabilities of current floor-cleaning robots.

Think of Voxel as a potential "droid butler" for your household. It boasts a pair of highly-articulated arms, suggesting a dexterity that could allow it to interact with objects and perform more complex actions. Coupled with an advanced vision system, Voxel is intended to understand and navigate its environment effectively to assist with domestic duties. This places it in a similar category to other emerging household robots, such as Weave Robotics' Issac 1, which also aims to tackle chores beyond simple vacuuming or mopping.

If you're intrigued by the prospect of having Voxel join your home, Tuesday Labs is offering reservations for a $200 deposit. While the full price is expected to land around the $20,000 mark, this initial reservation fee secures your spot. The company anticipates Voxel will begin shipping to customers sometime in 2028, giving early adopters a glimpse into the future of home automation.

The model currently available for preorder is the Series 1, which represents the initial offering from Tuesday Labs. While specific details about its capabilities are still emerging, the concept of a robot that can learn and adapt to perform a range of tasks is a significant step forward in personal robotics. It will be fascinating to see how Voxel evolves and integrates into daily life, potentially redefining what we expect from our home appliances and assistants.
