Amazon's Echo Show lineup has several models on discount, making choice a bit tricky. This guide breaks down key differences to help you pick the Echo Show that fits your home and budget.

If you're shopping for a smart display, now is a good time — a range of Echo Show models are discounted across retailers. Rather than hunting for the cheapest deal, it's worth matching the device to what you plan to use it for: casual kitchen timers and recipes, bedside music and alarms, or a central smart-home hub with a larger screen.

Start with size and placement. The Echo Show 5 and Echo Show 8 are compact and ideal for bedsides or kitchen counters. The Show 5 is the smallest and most affordable, great for alarms, basic video calls and quick information checks. The slightly larger Show 8 offers a brighter, sharper display and better speakers, which makes it a better all‑round choice if you watch clips or use it for video calls more often.

If screen real estate matters, consider the Echo Show 10 or the 15-inch Echo Show. The Echo Show 10 adds a motorized swivel that keeps the camera and content facing you — useful during video calls or when following recipes while moving around. The Echo Show 15 is designed as a wall-mountable whole-room hub, with a big canvas for widgets, calendars and family photos.

Audio quality is another deciding factor. Smaller Shows do fine for voice and casual music, but if you want richer sound for podcasts and background music, step up to the Show 8 or 10. Also check camera features: most models include a decent front camera for video calls, with privacy shutters on several units.

Finally, think about integrations and budget. All Echo Shows run Alexa and support common smart-home standards, but the bigger units offer better multitasking and media performance. With discounts in play, weigh which features you’ll actually use — a cheaper Show 5 may be smarter than overspending on a model whose extras you seldom touch.
