X has shifted X Pro (formerly TweetDeck) from the standard Premium tier to Premium+, a $40/month plan. Some subscribers say they received no advance notice and are surprised to lose access to a long-standing management tool.

X has moved X Pro — the multi-column dashboard many users still think of as TweetDeck — out of its standard Premium subscription and into the higher‑priced Premium+ tier, which currently costs $40 per month.

The tool was rebranded as X Pro in 2023 after the service’s broader rename from Twitter to X, and it was converted into a paid feature not long after. Fans of the interface use it to view multiple timelines, lists and feeds in a single window; professionals and power users have relied on it for account management and monitoring.

Engadget reporters on Premium accounts say they encountered the change without prior notification. Users attempting to open X Pro found the feature unavailable even if they had recently renewed Premium, which has prompted complaints online about the timing and communication of the shift.

X’s help center now lists X Pro as a benefit of Premium+, and an official support reply from Grok clarified that the Creator Hub information hadn’t refreshed immediately, causing inconsistent listings across support pages. The company’s dedicated X Pro help page, at the time of publication, didn’t explicitly reflect the new restriction.

For subscribers who depend on multi‑column views, the move raises practical questions: should they upgrade to Premium+ or look for alternative third‑party tools? Some will likely pay to keep their workflows intact; others might switch to standalone apps or web-based dashboards that replicate key features.

If you’re a current Premium user, check your account settings and the support pages to confirm access. For those considering an upgrade, weigh whether the additional features in Premium+ justify the higher monthly cost — especially if X Pro is the primary reason for subscribing.
