YouTube is rolling out a new feature that uses AI to generate personalized video feeds based on user prompts. This allows viewers to curate content around specific interests, moods, or topics.
YouTube is experimenting with a new artificial intelligence feature designed to create highly personalized video feeds. According to an announcement from the platform, this new tool will allow users to generate custom content feeds based on descriptions of what they want to watch. Whether you're looking for content related to a specific hobby, a particular mood, or a niche topic, the AI aims to curate a feed tailored just for you.
These custom feeds can then be pinned to the top of your YouTube homepage, offering a quick and easy way to dive back into content that perfectly matches your current interests. This move seems to be YouTube's latest effort to enhance user engagement and provide a more tailored viewing experience on its massive platform.
The feature is currently in its early stages, rolling out with English language support. Initially, it's available to YouTube users in the US who are signed into the mobile app or the desktop version of the platform. To try it out, users can look for the 'Your custom feed' tab at the top of their YouTube homepage. From there, they can enter a descriptive prompt into the AI text box to generate their personalized feed.
This AI-driven customization could significantly change how users discover and consume content on YouTube, moving beyond algorithmic suggestions to actively user-defined curation. It represents a significant step towards making the platform more responsive to individual user preferences and potentially reducing content discovery friction.
