BYD's Denza Z Hypercar: 1000+ HP Convertible Eyes Europe First

Chinese EV giant BYD is set to launch its Denza Z hypercar, boasting over 1,000 horsepower and impressive acceleration, in Europe before other markets. The high-performance electric vehicle will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
While BYD is widely recognized for its more accessible all-electric vehicles, the company isn't shying away from the extreme end of the automotive spectrum. Through its Denza subbrand, BYD has unveiled the Denza Z, a stunning hypercar that promises over 1,000 horsepower from its all-electric powertrain. Revealed at the Beijing Auto Show, this new machine is set to challenge the likes of established hypercar manufacturers.
According to reports, the Denza Z can achieve a blistering 0 to 60 mph in under two seconds, putting it in direct competition with performance benchmarks like the Rimac Nevera. This level of acceleration is truly remarkable and signals BYD's ambition to compete at the highest levels of automotive performance.
Initially showcased as a concept in 2025, the Denza Z has evolved into a production-ready model, planned to be offered in four-seater configurations, including hard-top, convertible, and a specialized "track" variant. While full specifications for the track edition are still under wraps, BYD has confirmed the inclusion of its advanced DiSus-M intelligent suspension system, comparable to Chevrolet's Magnetic Ride Control, and its rapid Flash Charging technology. The hypercar is also expected to feature capabilities seen in BYD's YangWang U9, such as advanced autonomous driving functions and the impressive "tank turning" maneuver.
In a surprising move, BYD plans to launch the Denza Z in Europe first, with a significant debut at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK this July. This European focus suggests a strategic push into premium markets. Although pricing details are yet to be announced, the Denza Z is expected to be more widely available than BYD's limited-run YangWang U9 hypercar, potentially making extreme electric performance more accessible.
