Tesla is bringing back a popular perk, offering one year of free Supercharging with new Model 3 Premium and Performance purchases in North America. This promotion aims to attract buyers who may not have easy access to home charging solutions.

Tesla, the electric vehicle giant, is reintroducing a familiar incentive for potential buyers. While the company officially ended its free lifetime Supercharging offer back in 2018, it has since offered this perk on and off for specific promotions. Now, the latest deal focuses on new purchases of the Model 3 Premium or Performance models in North America.

According to an announcement on Tesla's website, customers who purchase a Model 3 Premium or Performance will receive one year of complimentary Supercharging. However, it's important to note that this offer is subject to change or termination at any time, so interested buyers should act swiftly.

As highlighted by Electrek, this complimentary Supercharging could be a significant benefit for those who lack access to home charging. For many, this could translate into substantial savings on charging costs. However, for drivers who primarily charge at home, the impact of this offer might be less pronounced.

The free Supercharging period begins at the time of vehicle delivery and cannot be deferred or exchanged for cash. Tesla also points out that certain fees may still apply. For instance, congestion fees can be incurred if a vehicle remains plugged into a Supercharger after its battery reaches 80 percent during busy periods. Furthermore, this offer is not valid for vehicles intended for commercial use, such as ridesharing, taxi, or delivery services. For those who previously traded in gas vehicles for a 2,000-mile Supercharging incentive, they can enjoy this new freebie first and then redeem their previously earned miles after their initial year of ownership.
