LG's Sound Suite pairs Dolby Atmos FlexConnect with modular speakers to let you place units anywhere without hurting soundstage. The system is powerful and versatile but has some setup and connectivity hiccups that may frustrate early adopters.

LG’s new Sound Suite promises a more flexible take on home theater: use a soundbar, subwoofer and up to four wireless speakers and let Dolby’s Atmos FlexConnect do the rest. Instead of forcing speakers into exact positions, FlexConnect uses a compatible soundbar or LG TV as the lead device to detect each speaker’s location and tune output accordingly, which makes rearranging or moving units much easier than traditional setups.

The lineup includes the H7 soundbar ($1,000) as the centerpiece, the W7 8-inch subwoofer ($600) and two wireless speaker options: the M5 and the M7 ($250 and $400). The H7 packs a dozen Peerless drivers with front, side and up-firing units, plus multiple woofers and passive radiators for low-end impact. All units support AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect, and the system requires LG’s Alpha 11 Gen 3 AI processor in the lead device.

In everyday listening the Sound Suite delivers engaging directional audio and convincing Atmos immersion—especially with the H7, W7 and two M7s. The M7s also work well as standalone music speakers, and a four-M7 layout can be a neat option for wall-mounted TVs that don’t want a soundbar underneath. Still, some trade-offs appear: four-speaker setups with a TV lead can’t include a subwoofer, and certain live sports mixes can push commentary to TV speakers, making it harder to follow announcers.

Setup is app-driven via LG ThinQ or onscreen when using a compatible TV. FlexConnect calibration works but requires re-optimization each time you add or remove speakers, and the process emits audible calibration tones. More concerning were intermittent Wi‑Fi and pairing issues during testing—getting the H7 fully online took multiple reboots over several days, and adding or removing M7 units could be glitchy.

Feature-wise you get LG staples like Room Calibration Pro, AI Sound Pro+ upscaling, Clear Voice Pro+ and a Sound Follow seat-focused tweak (which felt inconsistent in review tests). Competitors currently include TCL’s Z100 FlexConnect speakers and Samsung’s HW-Q990 series for those wanting a more plug-and-play all-in-one experience.

Overall, Sound Suite offers a powerful, flexible Dolby Atmos option if you can tolerate some early-software rough edges and the premium price. For owners of recent LG TVs, the system looks especially compelling, but expect to spend time on setup and occasional troubleshooting.
