Matic Robot Vacuum Gains Apple Home and Google Home Support

Matic's popular robot vacuum now integrates with Apple Home and Google Home via Matter, enabling voice control and automations. The feature is rolling out as an unofficial Matter integration with some platform limitations.
Matic, a standout on many best‑of lists for robot vacuums, has quietly added smart home compatibility that users have been asking for. The company announced Matter‑based connectivity that lets the vacuum pair with Apple Home and Google Home, opening the door to voice commands and simple automations.
Until now, Matic relied on its own app for scheduling and controls, which meant it sat slightly outside the rest of many smart homes. With Matter support, you can now create automations like “Run Matic when everyone leaves,” “Dock when I arrive,” or “Stop when the door unlocks,” and include the robot in broader routines alongside lights and thermostats.
It’s worth noting the integration is not yet fully certified, and Matic’s Matter support is still unofficial. That means some platforms or advanced features might not work perfectly for every user right away. Pairing appears to be straightforward: the vacuum displays a pairing code on its screen when you initiate the process in the app, allowing it to join your existing Matter network.
For owners who’ve wanted seamless voice control, this is a meaningful step. You’ll be able to tell Siri or Google Assistant to start or dock the vacuum, which shortens the path from tapping the phone to quick spoken commands. And for those who use Home Assistant or other local smart‑home hubs, the Matter bridge may provide more reliable, privacy‑friendly integrations than cloud‑only options.
Matic’s move reflects an industry trend: more appliance makers are adopting Matter to reduce fragmentation and make smart homes simpler. While the current rollout feels like a beta in places, it’s a promising start for anyone who wants their cleaner to finally fit neatly into the rest of their connected home.
